Luna's gift... Enjoy the moment...

Early on in our relationship, I noticed something special about Luna goat.  She has a gift for being very present in the moment.

For example, the girl simply loves to be brushed. If she see's me with a brush in my hand, she is right there, front and center, posing her body in front of mine, so that I might have easy access to her. She positions any spots that might require extra attention under my hands.

And then she goes very, very still. She shuts her eyes and I swear... she smiles.

And when she naps?  She finds the warmest, sunniest spot. Out of the wind.  And she snuggles in with her friends.  Again, those eye lids droop and her lip corners tilt up.

A benevolent herd queen, and seems to relish time with the other does.

A wonderful mother, she not only nurtures her own babies but has been known to let other goats young ones nip in for a snack at her milk bar.  She actively snuggles her kids, looking so happy to be with them.  Every day she models to me the importance enjoying now.  It is so easy as a human to let the moments blur past.  Leave it to a goat to show me the joy in slowing down.

I love the photo of you brushing her! We have a Luna, too, but she's a beagle-schnauzer rescue dog. :)

I think we can all learn a lot from Luna!
