Adventures with Jane Doe...

When I finished work today, my daughter said, "It's so pretty outside, let's take our cameras and a baby goat to the cemetery and have a photo shoot." I was resistant, I had THINGS TO DO. But she is persistent if nothing else, and off we went.
Jane snuggled calmly in my lap while we rode. Once at the cemetery she hopped out of the car, and followed us calmly. At first we put a leash on her, but she didn't need it, staying within feet of us as we walked about.

She nibbled on weeds, and explored the "rocks," we passed.

The black flies were fierce, so we didn't stay long. Next we drove to our favorite summer swimming spot.
Jane liked this place, too.

All of this was a very pleasant diversion, punctuated with slips of growing beauty...

We dabbled our toes in the clear water. Just a month ago this place was filled with ice. On the surface the water didn't feel too horribly cold, but I bet it was much colder just under the surface. Perhaps we'll bring Jane back later in the season and see if she wants to take a little dip with us. She looks interested...
